Solar light at Kassma Health Center (donated last fall by Solar Kits for Change)
RHCI has been the recipient of much needed supplies and equipment recently. The shipment on February 28th included:
- Three 55 gallon barrels of Baby kits, baby supplies, fabric and other tailoring items from First Presbyterian Church in White Bear Lake
- 4 laptop computers, an iPad and a copier purchased with funds from a generous donor
- 3 additional large Solar Lights from Solar Kits for Change
- Midwife equipment and medical supplies from Global Health Ministries
These barrels will arrive in Sierra Leone at the end of April.
Five E-readers (with the Merck Manual downloaded on them) were donated by Books for Africa and distributed to health care staff in January.
Many generous donors made year-end donations and recent gifts, which helps RHCI bottom-line. RHCI was the recipient of the Berglund Family Foundation Grant for the second year in a row. Other major donors included Joyce and Richard McFarland, Connie Pries, Marilyn Joseph and Warren Regelmann and Alexa Hoffer. Special thanks to Julie Hoffer for her role in funding, purchasing and setting up the computers and iPad.
Thank you to all of our donors, no matter the size of your gift. RHCI will continue to use it to strengthen the health care systems in Tikonko Chiefdom and reduce maternal/child mortality.
