On Saturday morning, October 10th, a group of 10 members of First Presbyterian Church in White Bear Lake met in their church parking lot to “pack barrels” to be shipped to RHCI’s Sierra Leone headquarters in Tikonko Town. Having collected boxes of baby clothes, diapers, blankets, towels, sheets, and fabric, this team filled three 55 gallon barrels to the brim. Three of the school age children assumed the roles of stompers and hopped in the barrels with stocking feet to pack down the supplies.
Additionally 2 barrels of medical supplies, donated by Matter NGO and Global Health Ministries will be shipped. Salone Shipping Services, based in Menomenee Falls, Wisconsin, will arrive with a truck on October 16 to pick up these barrels, which will be shipped from the East Coast via container ship to Freetown, Sierra Leone. Delivery date is expected to be December 20, 2020.
In the past 8 years, RHCI has shipped approximately 40 barrels of medical and baby supplies. Thank you to the First Presbyterian Church-White Bear Lake, Belinda Breit, Carol Roeller, Matter NGO, Global Health Ministries and everyone else that donated to this shipment. Your generosity will benefit many moms and children in Tikonko Chiefdom.
