The work of Rural Health Care Initiative is carried out by the dedicated staff in the Tikonko Chiefdom. Each month this year we will feature one of our valuable staff members.
Mohamed Kabba, RHCI Outreach Coordinator, is well known in the Tikonko community for coordinating RHCI’s mobile outreach clinics in four villages in the Tikonko Community Health Center Catchment area of the Chiefdom. Mohamed began working with RHCI in 2014 by growing groundnuts on RHCI’s land and assisted with creating a garden at the Mbao-Mi Mother’s Home to feed mothers and staff. Mohamed is a farmer at heart, and has helped form 3 farmer based organizations in the chiefdom as a form of collective farming to promote food security.
During Mohamed’s time at the mobile outreach clinics, you will find him assisting the nurses with patient visits. Mohamed communicates with local village community members about any upcoming visits or educational opportunities that RHCI may be providing. Mohamed is personable and makes mothers and children feel comfortable during their clinic visits. When Mohamed is not assisting with outreach, you will find him running errands on his motorbike.
RHCI is grateful for Mohamed Kabba and his dedication to his community!
