Bi-ka-ka-ka-ka, which is thank you very, very much in Mende, to everyone who participated and supported RHCI in the Taste of Africa Event on Sunday, October 2! You are partners in a team that is bringing health and hope to families in rural Sierra Leone.
Founder Alice Karpeh, who is currently in Sierra Leone, gave a heartfelt thank you by video. RHCI in-country director Manley Jongopie also expressed his gratitude and urged continued support from our generous donors.
The audience was entertained by the West African Duniya Drum and Dance Team including a lively participatory dance that got everyone moving and smiling. The event was catered by two outstanding African restaurants: Fasika (on Snelling) and Afro Deli (Minneapolis and St. Paul locations).
Thank you to the many donors, sponsors, volunteers, speakers and everyone who made this event so successful and fun. We appreciate everyone’s attendance that filled the banquet hall to the max with energy and joy.
Here are a few photos of the event (more to follow).
