Hosted by Darin and Beth Pilacinski — better known to many of us as Maggie’s parents — Lakeside Jam for Good was a special evening that brought people together on the shores of White Bear Lake for fun, friendship, and a shared commitment to supporting the work of Rural Health Care Initiative.

Held on Saturday, June 13, the event took place on one of the most beautiful evenings of the summer.

Approximately 100 friends and family members of the Pilacinskis gathered to enjoy live music, delicious BBQ, dancing, and time together by the lake.

One of the highlights of the evening was an inspiring talk by Darin Pilacinski about his daughter Maggie and her passion for RHCI’s work to improve the health of mothers and children in rural Sierra Leone. RHCI board members in attendance included Sarah Cassell (and her visiting sister) and Board Chair Ajayi Nicol, as well as former board member Carol Nelson.

RHCI is deeply grateful to the Pilacinski family for opening their home and hearts to host this wonderful event, and to the many guests whose generosity made it such a success. Funds raised will support the operation of RHCI’s Birth Waiting Homes for mothers from remote villages, as well as Outreach Clinics and child health programs that are improving lives across rural Sierra Leone.
