Over 200 attended the October 28th Sustaining Our Mission Dinner. Dr. Michael Osterholm, as the keynote speaker, praised RHCI and its supporters for its work to improve health in rural Sierra Leone. Tikonko All-Star award recipients included the Petrie Hanson family (including Julie and Alexa Hoffer and Alisa Hanson), Ibrahim Seisay, and Sheku Sheriff. Executive Director Carol Nelson reported that over 150 women have stayed at the Mbao-mi Mothers’ Home since January, coming from over 40 villages from one hour to 10 hours walking distance to Tikonko. No maternal or newborn deaths have occurred.
