Solar Power System installed at Mbao-mi Mothers’ Home

On December 8th, RHCI in Tikonko celebrated the commissioning of the new Solar Power System, giving the Mbao-mi Mothers’ Home reliable lighting at night, electricity for refrigeration and freezing of food, power for the water pump, charging for phones and computers and much more.

RHCI Board Chair Sarah Cassell was in attendance and participated in the commissioning.

The Sierra Leone company, Maklon (SL) Limited, based in Freetown, was the company from which the system was purchased and who did the installation of the 4KW system  in November.

A generous donation of $10,000 from Julie Hoffer and the Petrie Hanson Family in Minnesota made this major improvement possible.   Thank you Julie and family for your amazing generosity which will improve services for the women and staff at Mbao-mi Mothers’ Home, including the in-country RHCI administrative offices.
