Solar lights, solar charging panels, solar drip irrigation, and rechargeable headlamps were among the items generously donated by Solar Kits for Change to Rural Health Care Initiative’s operations in the Tikonko Chiefdom, delivered by the volunteers from Minnesota in February.

With little to no electricity in the Tikonko Chiefdom we serve, these devices will benefit our programs and people with whom we partner with. Imagine nurses giving care or delivering in the middle of the night, without light. Having light at night and having one’s cell phone charged make a big difference in patient care at our Birth Waiting Homes and Outreach Clinics.

In addition, a solar oven from GoSun was donated and is being tested by RHCI staff Moses Carter, who is in charge of the Solar Program at RHCI.  These solar items are very helpful in providing lighting and access to charging of much needed communication and technology devices.  Thank you to Solar Kits for Change for their generous donations!

To support RHCI’s Solar program, consider purchasing a solar item at GoSun for your personal use.  If you use this code:  ambaml2, you will get a 15% discount, plus 15% of the price of the item will go towards a solar item for RHCI to ship to Sierra Leone.

Be part of the team bringing solar energy to rural Sierra Leone.  Join RHCI, Solar Kits for Change, and GoSun in this project.
